Streaming Media Account Request Form
Please use the form below to request an account on CCRI's streaming server to store and distribute multimedia files. Please note that the turn-around time for account creation is three working days. When your account is created you will receive an e-mail message and instructions on accessing the streaming server to upload your files as well as the correct URL convention to use when linking to these files from either MyCCRI, Blackboard, or a faculty or departmental web page.
Note that all files on the CCRI streaming server must be compatible with Windows Media format (wmv (preferred) or avi for movies; wma or mp3 for audio ) and are viewable from both on campus and off campus. Users must adhere to established copyright guidelines and CCRI's Responsible Use of Information Technology. By submitting this form, you agree to acquire the appropriate rights and clearance for any copyrighted material(s) that are stored and/or streamed in your assigned account. We do not monitor accounts for content but any complaints about copyright infringement or appropriate use violations will be appropriately pursued. Users are encouraged to contact Norm Grant or Gene Grande for help with any special circumstances for specific files, (e.g. on-campus-only licensing restrictions, personal copyright specifications, etc.).
You also acknowledge that you are responsible for all of your data and data backup. It is recommended that original media be stored on a user's local computer. Department of Information Technology staff are able to restore data in the case of catastrophic events, but individual file recovery due to user error is done on a “best effort” basis and cannot be guaranteed.
Each user account will be created with 1gb of space. If additional space is needed, the user should contact Norm Grant (firstname.lastname@example.org) from the IT Instructional Support team.
Please refer to online documentation about effective use and preparation of streaming audio and video files. For more information please contact a member of Instructional Technology.
